🌟IRT Theatre Camp Teacher Highlight🌟
Meet Teresa Reynolds! Teresa is a director, producer, actor, singer, bandleader, and voiceover artist. After earning a degree in acting from Ball State University, she moved from Indiana to NYC, and was soon cast in Platanos y Collard Greens, which became the longest running Off-Broadway show starring a minority cast. She established a women-led theatre production company, and began producing and directing new and existing works. After being immersed in the NYC theatre scene for years, she turned her attention to music. Teresa toured the world singing backup for Gloria Gaynor of “I Will Survive” fame, and wrote and recorded two solo albums. In 2018, she came back to Indianapolis and created her band, Teresa Reynolds and the Slicktones. She also returned to her love of theatre and is a company member of the Indianapolis Black Theater Company, through which Teresa revisited the show Platanos y Collard Greens as director and co-producer. She’s thrilled to be returning this summer as a teaching artist with the IRT Theatre Camp.
Teresa Reynolds and the Slicktones is a five member group playing original music that spans genres: an eclectic mix of pop R&B, jazz, disco, and soul. You may have seen them at the Jazz Kitchen, a Pacer game, or the Feast of Lanterns. This summer you can catch them at the Indianapolis Propylaeum’s Porch Concert Series, Bloombox Fest at the Harrison Center, or Chreecefest.
Teresa will be teaching our following camp this June:
